These questions come from real clinical experience, not from aspiration. They name the gap many lactation professionals feel between certification and mastery, and they are exactly where this Fellowship begins.

The Fellowship in brief
CLF trains you to understand, assess, and resolve breastfeeding challenges through integrated neurobiological, biomechanical, and relational frameworks. It brings lactation science, nervous-system understanding, craniofacial development, and relational care into one structured learning ecosystem.
It is a reorientation of your clinical identity — not a recertification.
Structure
The Fellowship is delivered in two Modules. Module 01 runs online across twelve monthly Building Blocks. Module 02 is in-person experiential learning at the Mumbai Academy.
Each monthly session
Deep topic lecture — conceptual understanding and clinical frameworks.
Clinical case discussion — real case analysis submitted by participants.
Observation skills, communication, and clinical decision-making.
Module 01 · The twelve Building Blocks
Each Building Block layers concept, real-case reasoning, and skill — building from observation to integrative clinical thinking.
Learning to observe before intervening. Recognising patterns in the dyad and separating symptoms from underlying causes.
Feeding through nervous-system regulation, vagal tone, and how stress physiology shapes feeding behaviour.
How induction, caesarean birth, or NICU care shape early feeding patterns and infant regulation.
Functional dynamics of tongue, palate, jaw, and cranial structures in latch and milk transfer.
How neck tension, postural asymmetry, and body strain influence feeding comfort and efficiency.
Milk production, the oxytocin reflex, and telling true low supply from perceived low supply and transfer challenges.
Reading feeding through calm alertness, disorganisation, defensive feeding, and shutdown.
Why a baby who fed well may suddenly resist, including developmental shifts and sensory changes.
Colic, reflux, and discomfort through the link between feeding mechanics and gut function.
Supporting mothers through the emotional realities of early motherhood with clarity and psychologically informed care.
Clinical decision-making, scope of practice, referral pathways, and integrity in care.
Bringing physiology, behaviour, body patterns, and maternal experience together to reason through complex cases.

The Clinical Lactation Fellowship is a recognised Preferred Provider Programme of the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
CERPs are awarded for sessions delivered within the recognition period, 30 September 2026 to 29 September 2028.

Eligibility
The Fellowship is open to qualified infant-feeding professionals. Admission is on merit, so meeting these criteria is the starting point, not a guarantee of a place.
Fees and enrolment
The Fellowship is enrolled in two Modules, with Module 01 a prerequisite for Module 02. Inaugural pricing for Cohort 01, limited to 30 seats.
Module 02 in-person retreat: travel and accommodation are not included and are announced separately.
